KETENCİLER is active in fishing and construction of fishing boats since 1950. The founder of KETENCİLER Capt. IBRAHIM KETENCI was the president of Marmara Cooperatives Union for 15 years. He provided important support with the long years of experience to development of the fishing sector in Turkey.

The fishing was made with wooden boats between 1960-1980. After 1980, steel and fiberglass boats from 10m to 65m lengths were used. 

KETENCİLER, were fishing 3.000 to 5.000 tons of fish per year. We were at Spanish waters between 1987-1991 for tuna fishing and at West African coasts between 1993-1995 for trawling.

Actually we are building in 2 separate shipyards.  We already delivered fishing boats of several types as well as passenger boats to Italy, Germany, Portugal, Israel, Croatia and Algeria

We are establishing our new shipyard on a 42.000 m2 land at Bursa Karacabey region. This shipyard will start working by April 2008 under the name Saban Denizcilik Ltd.

All kind of vessels, fishing boats, passenger boats and other types of vessels of length up to 100m will be built in this shipyard.

Besides, KETENCİLER continue the activities with Algerian fishing projects and Yemen fishing projects with project companies (together with Agro Techniques).
